Is 5G A Health Risk?


We all want the fastest phone and data speeds possible, but at what expense will this better technology be to our health? Scientists feel this technological enhancement will be catastrophic. Coupled with 2G, 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi, the higher radiation that 5G will bring can cause issues to humans, animals, and the environment.

Why Is 5G Dangerous?

Adding 5G speeds means adding more towers. While we all live relatively close to a cell tower today, in order to provide everyone access to 5G the industry will at least double the number of cell towers throughout the world. That includes that total of 2G, 3G, and 4G.

It is estimated that by 2020, 31 billion objects like computers, phones, etc., around the world will access the internet. By 2025 that number will more than double to 75 billion. 

Few argue that radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) have an inherent health risk, but the more powerful 5G means even stronger RF-EMF’s than ever before. This increases the chances of cancers and reproductive problems to those who encounter stronger radio waves. When exposed long term, as will be the case with those living in the digital age, the outcome could be disastrous.

Numerous studies show that the use of 2G, 3G and 4G technology EMF’s have an impact on the male sex organs, electrical activity in the brain, cellular DNA, and other dangerous effects on the human body. With the faster 5G, what will the impact be to people?

The anticipated radio frequencies are expected to increase by as much as 17x, which, if all things are equal, means that the amount of radiation expelled will be the same. That’s an excessive amount of additional radiation that humans, wildlife, and the environment will be exposed to on a daily basis.

5G is expected to be 100 times faster than 4G, but with the unknown damage that the RF may cause, is faster service really necessary?  Cell phone companies think so. Faster service means more money can be charged for upgraded technology and new phones will be made to handle 5G. This, in turn, means new phones will be purchased at a higher cost and a significant boom to the technology industry.  

Children’s Health Likely To Be Impacted

Children are the most vulnerable to damage from 5G technology. Being smaller, added with the fact that their skulls not completely hardened and thick yet, children are more prone to neurological damage from RF-EMF’s than adults.

An interesting thing to take into consideration is that the proximity to a cell tower is not the greatest concern. The most significant amount of EMF’s is noted from a smartphone when it has a weak connection to the nearest cell tower. It’s not the tower that emits the RF’s it’s the devices themselves.

How Do We Combat Damage From EMF’s?

While the technology has not been around nearly long enough to gather definitive data on 5G health risks, there are ways to reduce your exposure to EMFs. For example, you can reduce the amount of radiation by using a headset when making phone calls, rather than putting the phone next to your head.

Additionally, the FCC needs to update its standards. Cell Phone Safety Standards have not been updated since 1996 when analog phones were used.  Analog phones produce a constant wave of radiation, and the FCC felt that they were safe to use. Sadly, the data from whether 5G is definitively dangerous won’t be seen for at least two decades. In that amount of time, however, an entire generation of people can be exposed to a considerable amount of cancer-causing radiation that society could be irreparable at the hands of technology.
